It's a peaceful night, though this world is at war and some blame the president, while others the Lord, for our sons and daughters dying in a desert on a distant shore, but when you spend so much time fighting, well you forget just what your fighting for,

But it's a peaceful night, while I'm staring at the stars and the only music playing for me is the sound of distant cars, driving each their separate ways, living each their separate lives and though numbered are their days, they'll never stop to realize,

That it's a peaceful night, though this world isn't right. The innocent are put to death, while the guilty given life. We're rewarded for our ruthlessness and reprimanded for our truthfulness, but what keeps me from being hopeless is the blessed irony

Of this peaceful night, while I'm thanking Jesus Christ, that while everything still falls apart, the darkness can't escape the light and all shall be restored and all things shall be added unto you.

And the hungry shall be satisfied, the wicked shall be justified and the unclean shall be sanctified and the Godhead will be glorified.
